Espresso coffee is a complex beverage - so to
facilitate its preparation, the coffee pod has been
invented. The pod contains a dose of ground
coffee sufficient to make one or two cups, in
between two sheets of filter paper, compacted
into a round shape and sealed in an inert
atmosphere (nitrogen gas).
